Nobody likes Christmas as much as the theatre elite; 'tis the season to wear funny-looking albeit comfortable costumes, speak in a completely assimilated, sadly butchered version of the language of the time, and tell stories that no one needs to learn the lines to; whatever your faith, or lack thereof, anyone who is at all connected to a television, radio, the internet, newspapers, magazines, public school systems, private schools, the dentists office, or any mode of retail store is at least vaguely familiar with the deal with the stories of Christmastime.

So it is always with a lot of joy that independent theatre is allowed to flourish around this time of the year. According to theatremanina.com the Attic Theatre & Film Center (5429 West Washington Blvd) in Los Angeles (between Hauser & Fairfax, just off the I-10) is presenting the Tom Dudzick holiday season favorite, "Greetings!" While this is not a period piece, it was written in the 1980' but maintains its relevance in its continued performance at theatres all over the country every holiday season. "Greetings!" is produced by The Attic Studios and Attic Theatre Ensemble.

Heralded as "a miraculous comedy that has become a welcome alternative to "A Christmas Carol" in theatres all across the country," "Greetings!" seems poised for all the success this holiday, once again. It really speaks to the human instinct towards tradition and good natured sameness that "Greetings!" is being so well received year after year.

"Greetings!" looks to have a lot of the same effect it does every year; much the same that such standard bearers as "The Charlie Brown Christmas Special," "A Christmas Carol," and "Miracle on 34th Street" continually draw our attention each season.

"Greetings!" is a family story during the holidays. The story of family struggles, family triumphs, and families true interactions and continued returning to the eternal questions which follow us all, all our lives on this earth.
