A Home Without Love

So deathly quiet in the kitchen

As in other rooms of the house

So rarely a word dare spoken

Let alone romantic affection

The joy that might have been

Never seemed to find its way

A father and mother divided

Two who never became one

In a house with a pretty façade

Where life never found a way in

The children now grown and gone

Reflect on what could have been

In a home in which they grew

Where love never found a way in

That's sad but pretty.
