Once again, it's that time of the year. The time when the holiday spirit rolls around, Christmas music is heard in stores everywhere, Hanukkah candles are lit, families are spending time together and of course, the time of year when money is tight.

So what do you do now that you have an entire list of people to buy presents for, but not enough cash? Well, take advantage of Black Friday Deals, obviously! So for everyone's shopping convenience, I've put together a list of different places to check out sorted by the type of goods you will find in that store.

Now remember, most - if not all - stores will be having huge sales. I chose these stores because these are where you will want to get the products, just not at their original prices. It's always a good idea to get started early so you can finish early and avoid the last-minute rush that happens every year like clockwork. In New York City, that means crowded stores, ferocious shoppers and lack of staff.

Women and Men's Apparel

Forever 21 - this store started with only women's apparel but has now branched out with a men's clothing line, as well. Even though the store has mostly women's clothing, the choices for men's apparel has become larger and is stylish. Find your tops, bottoms, and outerwear here.

Abercrombie and Fitch - a rare find in NYC, Abercrombie has styles for both men and women that are geared towards the clean-cut crowd. Very preppie but cool, you can find your sweaters, jeans and khakis, soft baseball caps and t-shirts here.

American Eagle - In style, this store is very similar to Abercrombie. In price, the difference is apparent.

H&M - This store has it all. Apparel for men, women, teens and kids that range from jeans to dress pants, dresses to skirts, t-shirts and hoodies, and even lingerie. You'll also find accessories such as earrings, belts and hats.

Urban Outfitters - what can I say about this store? Well, there are men and women's clothing, some trinkets such as Bobble Head Jesus and mini bar sets. This is the place to go for trendy urban hipsters and college students looking for affordable fashion.

The Basics: T-shirts, Undershirts, and things for layering
