In our hectic lives we all feel stressed out at times. To think of it, anything can trigger stress - the way we work, communicate with people and even relax. Yes, you can be under stress even when you are relaxed or bored! Stress is something that can happen to anybody anytime. And since it is almost impossible to avoid in life, one has to learn how to manage stressful situations in order to decrease the harmful impact.

Stress management is what everybody has to learn in modern era. In fact, it is not that hard as some people assume; you just have to make it a part of your regular routine.

Here are a few basic stress managing techniques that will allow you to cope with daily stressful situations better.

Managing Time

Time management is the first thing you need to learn in order to avoid stressful situations. Develop time managing skills and you will find yourself more relaxed and able to spend time with family and friends.

Make your daily schedule and stick to it religiously. Don't forget to include time for your personal needs.
Set your priorities by rating tasks according to their urgency and importance. Give more time to the activities you feel are more essential and meaningful.
Don't get overcommitted. Leave out things that are not really important for you.
Set short-term deadlines. Break big projects into a few smaller ones.
Don't overestimate your abilities. Set realistic goals and don't sacrifice your personal time to make up your work assignments.

Building Healthy Coping Techniques

Define your coping techniques by noting down the stressful event, how you react to it, and the way you cope with it in a special stress journal. It will help you notice unhealthy coping techniques and change them into more healthy ones. Try and concentrate on positive things and think about what you can control and change in your life.

Improving Lifestyle in General

Your behavior and lifestyle may not be the direct cause of your stress, but indirectly they affect the stress level as well as your body's attempts to relieve the stress. Try to:
