My parents were new to the digital camera world. The options available were frightening to them. A walk down the camera aisle at Best Buy would be instantly overwhelming. There were mega pixals, zooms, screens, size and price to consider. They were so confused by the whole process, that they decided to forget the idea altogether.

They continued on for quite a while using an old no name 35mm camera. It was so old that they had the film door attached with scotch tape. My husband and I started feeling really bad for them and their sad little 35mm camera that we decided Christmas was the perfect time to welcome them into the digital world.

Of course, we didn't want to spend a ton of money on something that they may not understand and use. We wanted to stay away from any models with too many features and buttons. As usual, I began my search on line for an inexpensive and easy to use camera.

The Kodak easy share just happened to be showcased on Target's main page. I clicked on it immediately to see what it offered. The featured model was the Kodak EasyShare 5.0 MP Digital Camera - C513. 5 mega pixals. I read more of the specifications which didn't really mean all that much to me. It was the price that I was sold on. $79.99 for a digital camera seemed like a dream and was well within budget. I ordered one for my parents for Christmas.

When Christmas came around, my parents looked more scared than excited when they opened their gift. We immediately opened the package to show them how to use the camera. Of course, I had to learn how to operate it first before I could show them.

It took me all of five minutes to learn most of the features of the camera. There were multiple shooting modes called Easy Mode, LCD grid lines, image stabilization, infinity and continuous shooting or burst. They really only needed to use the easy mode.

Takeaways
  • Great digital camera for new comers to the digital world.
  • The Kodak EasyShare offers an easy to use interface.
  • The Kodak EastShare creates a high quality photograph.

WE just got a KodaK 7.0 Easyshare and a memory card all for $125.00. When I got it home and tried it out, much to my surprise, I could plug it into my Picbridge on my HP Printer and it worked. This wasn't true of my other more expensive Camcorder I bought over a year ago. We got the deal on our Camera at Office Max this last Wednesday night! I wonder, did you get a memory card also for your parents? A lot of people don't realize that the cameras usually only have a limited amount of pictures they can take. Anyway, good review thanks for telling us! Cyn
