Bright.
A flash of sudden light flies through the darkness of the night
True, to a certain recessed place, set within the city's face.
A coded message, from afar.
Origin: a distant star.
Relayed, delayed long since its start
Now comes to rest within the heart,
Wherefrom, as fast as light can fly,
Acknowledgement,
and a reply.

Still.
The silence of the night, lies undisturbed and from the light-
encrusted, vast metropolis, there comes no sound to challenge this.
Antiseptic sterile, white, corridors stretch out of sight,
Psychometrically positioned,
designed, floor-shined and air-conditioned,
The only thing that now aspires
To life
Runs through the city's wires.
