Oscars 2008: The Excitement Will Continue

As always, the excitement has already begun. The red carpet will roll, and Jon Stewart will host the 80th Academy Awards in The Kodak Theatre in California. This will be Jon's second appearance as host at the Oscars. There is no doubt that every major star from tinsel town will appear at this year's awards, just as they do every year.

A lot of excitement revolves around some interesting developments in Hollywood. There could be the appearance of Leonardo Di Caprio with his Italian girlfriend who is a supermodel, whom he is likely to marry this year. Then there is the much talked about separate appearances by Hollywood's hottest pair Anjelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, after a rumored separation because of their daughter.

Then there will be Tom Cruise along with wife Katie Holmes, who will appear after their yearlong honeymoon. A lot of speculation is being made about the lead contenders for the next Academy Awards. There will be Warner Bros., 300, which broke box office records, for special effects. There will also be Paul Greengrass for his stellar delivery in The Bourne Ultimatum.

Matt Damon can also expect a lot of attention, for sealing his status as a superstar this year in Hollywood. The surprise entry will be the actress Tabu from India, for her mind blowing performance in The Namesake. The popular Harry Potter could be left behind because it did not do well anywhere across the world. Besides these films, the year seemed to be pretty low in terms of big releases.

Despite this, there will be a lot of stage lights flashing on all the Hollywood biggies, including producers, directors, actors and other technicians. Though there are not too many big films, people all over the world will still wait to see this mega extravaganza. Tickets to the show are as usual available only by invitation, which will leave many people out.

The red carpet will roll once again, and the whole of Hollywood will hold the entire world's media attention. Form newspapers to television channels, we can expect the bulbs to keep flashing, as each personality walks into the Kodak Theatre, California.
