MS-13 Gang Busted in Los Angeles

TASK FORCE TARGETS MS-13 GANG INCLUDING LEADER OF LOS ANGELES FACTION 16 GANG MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATES ARRESTED ON FEDERAL NARCOTICS, IMMIGRATION CHARGES

The cost of methamphetamines on the streets of Los Angeles has skyrocketed according to undercover anonymous street sources familiar with the illicit drug. Prices are up almost 500%, choking off hundreds of millions of dollars of illegal dirty money which has been flowing into the coffers of mostly Washington Mutual Savings Bank, Bank of America, Citigroup, Downey Savings and Loan, Countrywide, and even Indymac Bank as a form of money laundering through various business and real estate fronts in Southern California.

Capping a two-year investigation, federal, state and local law enforcement authorities recently took into custody a total of 26 members and associates of the MS-13 gang, arresting the gang's No. 1 "shot caller" in the Los Angeles area, as well as top leaders of several cliques of the gang.

Washington Mutual was recently issued a cease and desist order from Federal Authorities and settled out of court allegations that it had failed to comply with suspicious activity reporting requirements on deposits of currency greater than $10,000 on any given day by any given customer of the bank.

Oscar Chacon, 29, the top member of MS-13 in Los Angeles, was arrested pursuant to a federal criminal complaint that accuses him of participating in a narcotic transaction in which approximately one-quarter pound of methamphetamine was sold, as well as five other deals involving smaller quantities of methamphetamine.

Chacon, who is rumored by street sources familiar with the gang commanded more than a thousand dealers through a supply network that would make the CIA blush, and as the leader of this narcotics ring is estimated to have manufactured or sold over $1 million a day in illegal drug sales such as cocaine, marijuana, crystal meth and engaged in other illegal activities, particularly money laundering.
