These days, it seems that cooking is going out of style. Two of the main reasons for this degeneration in our society are fear and lack of time. Cooking (and cooking well) can be a very daunting task that requires a lot of time and energy-- but it doesn't have to be this way! Here are ten tips for quick, efficient cooking that can inspire a culinary passion in your life-- and maybe even save you money.

1. Always cook in a clean kitchen. This is a very important part of efficient cooking. While most kitchens in America aren't absolutely filthy, it can still be hard to cook in a cluttered kitchen. Before you cook, do a little bit of clean up. Load the dishwasher, and wipe off the counters with anti-bacterial cleaner. This will provide a refreshing environment for your culinary masterpiece.

2. Make step-by-step lists. Easy cooking is only easy because it requires some prep-work. If you are really a beginner chef, it might be a good idea to make a detailed, step-by-step list of the things that need to be done.

3. Set aside enough time for your cooking tasks. One reason that people do not enjoy cooking is that they get frustrated because they don't allow enough time for their cooking tasks. It is never an enjoyable experience when you have to rush to finish a meal, clean up the house, and welcome guests or family-- all after a long, hard day at work. Practicing the habit of making executive decisions in your cooking and planning will prove invaluable in your time management. If you have very little time to cook, find an easy recipe to prepare quickly.

4. Keep your kitchen organized. This tip goes along with tip number one. An organized kitchen, much like a clean one, is always easier to use. Set aside one day a year to set up your own kitchen system that makes it easy to use all year round.
