Black Friday is over, but that does not mean employers can count on their employees to ignore the holiday sales. A recent study by Decision Analyst on behalf of BJ's Wholesale Club found that almost half the employees in the U.S. plan to shop at work on Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is the Monday after Black Friday. Black Friday is traditionally the start of the holiday shopping season, and in recent years Cyber Monday has became one of the most popular days for internet shopping. This information was provided in a recent press release from BJ's Wholesale Club. The study by Decision Analyst including 500 working people throughout the U.S. It found that 46 percent of American employees based on this study intend to shop online at work during Cyber Monday. On average these individuals expect to spend nearly an hour shopping for online bargains instead of doing the work they are expected to do during that time period. This was despite 11 percent admitting that they have been caught shopping online in the past by a supervisor.
"Shopping online during the holidays is a growing trend because it allows shoppers to take advantage of online savings while avoiding crowds, traffic and long lines," said Mike Atkinson, who is Vice President of E-commerce for BJ's Wholesale Club. "Cyber Monday is sure to be a busy online shopping day and with the launch of our new bjs.com, we're excited to offer a great shopping experience with many incredible deals.", concluded Atkinson.
