There's lots of different things you can make from a Pringles can one of them being a card display. Show off all your Christmas cards this year by starting with a simple potato chip can. After you're finished with it - and the project is extremely easy - you'll have a unique card display that can set on a table or shelf.
It's important that you use Pringles cans, or cans that look identical to Pringles cans, as other cans can have a different shape that's not suitable for this particular project.
Yarn, twine, string or even ribbon can be used, along with the Pringles can, to make the Christmas card display. Ribbon works best, since it lies flat, but narrow string or yarn can also be used.
Begin by taping the end of the ribbon to the bottom of the Pringles can. Go up the side with the ribbon, across the top (no lid), and down the opposite side. Go across the bottom and back up the side, and so on. You'll continue this repetition until the entire can is covered.
Another option you have is to cover the can in fabric then use the ribbon or yarn to make an occasional wrap around the can. This allows others to see the card as well as the Christmas fabric, and cuts the winding of the yarn down to a minimum. This option is perfect for someone who has few cards to display.
When using yarn or string the can will often sit lopsided because of the bulk. You can cure this by using most anything as legs for the card display. Tiny blocks of wood - or even lids from soda cans - make great legs, when painted. Glue them to the bottom of the can and it will sit straight. You can also choose a large lid, like one from a peanut butter jar, paint it, and glue the wrapped Pringles can down inside the lid.
