The Fairly OddParents is one of the most popular animated television shows for kids. The show first aired on Nickelodeon on March 30, 2001.The show was created by Butch Hartman and produced at Frederator Studios. The Fairly OddParents is the second most popular show currently airing on Nickelodeon, behind only SpongeBob SquarePants. The show is typically broken into two segments that share the half-hour show time, but the show occasionally has one segment run the entire length. The Fairly OddParents has had a total of eighty-three episodes air on Nickelodeon.

The Fairly OddParents takes place in a town called Dimmsdale, the home of a ten-year-old boy named Timmy Turner. The show follows Timmy’s struggles with other characters including Vicky (his babysitter), Mr. Crocker (his strange teacher), Francis (the school bully), and several magical creatures.

To help Timmy Turner get through his struggles, he has two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. Cosmo and Wanda grant Timmy wishes and make sure that he is always happy. Cosmo and Wanda are Timmy’s “Fairly OddParents,” a play on the term “fairy godparents.” Cosmo and Wanda’s entertaining personalities lead to some crazy ideas to ensure Timmy’s happiness. Timmy is the only person who can see them because they change themselves into other items when they are in public.

The show features many other characters that each have their comical personality to try and get any child watching the show to pass a smile or, in many cases, start rolling on the floor laughing. Some of the other characters in the show are:
A.J. Ibrahim: He is one of Timmy’s best friends. He has a science lab inside his room where he plans to clone himself.
Chester McBadbat: He is another one of Timmy’s best friends. He is a very dirty character and enjoys anything involving filth.
Vicky: She is Timmy’s evil babysitter who can’t seem to leave him alone no matter what.
