Trip to Crater of Diamonds State Park

I am a small business owner and since I do not have any employees I do have the luxury of checking out and taking time off whenever the right time appears that does not interfere with the normal operations of my business. I own a small marketing business and thank God for laptops and the internet I am within minutes of email and with the invention of the cell phone at no point am I totally isolated from the needs of my clients in case of an emergency. Normally once I commit to a trip I pretty much shut off the cell phone and only bring the laptop to check up on emails when I have about 5-10 free minutes with nothing to do.
My nine year saw on the Travel Channel a place called Crater of Diamonds State Park. My kid is one of the luckiest individuals on earth. One day while walking in Wal Mart parking lot 2 $100 bills were laying in the lot without a car in sight. We looked around for owners. my son was thinking it was a trick from the America's Funniest Home video show and he waited a minute to pick it up. We waited a few minutes but no one ever came in the area to reclaim it. At least we waited. A friend of mine said he would have scooped it up and started sprinting.
A week later in a lot across the street from the Walmart my son and i were walking and a $50 bill blew across the grass right in front of us. Again he thought it was a trick and no one was in sight. He picked it up, no one was there to claim it.
When my son suggested that we go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park I checked my calendar and saw next month I had a couple of days available to take the family.
I started out by researching where the park was and the distance. From Atlanta it was a 10 and a 1/2 hour drive. Since my wife refuses to ride in a car more than 3 hours unless absolutely necessary driving was out of the picture. I told my wife and she was like, "Ya'll go on I don't feel like going all that way to dig for rocks."
