Predators exist on the Internet. They try to get children to meet them in real life. Predators often end up in jail due to crimes. Online Predators often hang out on forums and chat rooms. Here are top five tips for avoiding online predators.

Be careful about predators who lie about their age

Online Predators will often lie about age. They will often appear to be younger or older than what they really are. Online Predators will often try to talk like they are around the same age as the target person. Online Predators often fake to understand problems that children and young teens often go through. They want them to understand that they know exactly what they are going through. They often pretend to listen to their problems and often solutions. They pretend to be a friend.

Don't let your children give out any personal information

Online Predators are often able to figure out which school that your child attends. All the information that a online predator needs to know is the name of the city that your child lives in. You don't want your child to discuss which grade he or she in or anything like that. It might be wise to not let your child give out his or her age. Don't let them give out any information regarding what you do as a job. Don't let them that let people know what part of a city that you live in.

Monitor the conversations that your children have with people

You want to make sure that online predators don't try to get information from your child. You want to make sure that your child is talking to people that talk about appropriate things. When you monitor the conversations then it is an excellent way to know what is going on with your child and friends.

Don't let your child go into chat rooms or forums

If your child doesn't go into chat rooms or forums then he or she will have a less chance of running into a online predator. You don't want them to use instant message to talk to people that he or she doesn't know in real life. You want them to only talk to people that they know in real life.

Don't let your children talk on the phone to people
