Have you notice that every time you go in a pet store or puppy planet that you can't find the puppies like Yorkies, Maltese, and even German Shepherd's, but there is always a Dalmatian. Dalmatian's are a breed of dogs that is not so easy to sell and I will tell you reason's why. Dalmatian's need a major amount of exercise and are very energetic and hyper active which is a wonderful thing, but not as a indoor pet.Dalmatians need to have training constantly for behavior problems. They are not well behaved dogs and you will need to take the time out to train them which will be no easy task. Dalmatians do have a short coat, but don't be deceived by that because there hair will get all over your home. If you have small children this shouldn't be your breed of choice. Dalmatians tends to play very rough and can hurt your child not intentional, but you don't want this to happen. Note that Dalmatians do make alot of bowel movements so clean up maybe very often.
With Dalmatians you have to have major patience's when training them either for obedience and housebreaking them. They can also be very jealous pets. Note that when choosing a pet you need to pick one that is more on your level. If you are the type of person that is very energetic and love the outdoors then a Dalmatian is for you, but if you are less active then you will need more of a calm relax pet.
Overall Dalmatians are great dogs just not for everyone. They are very friendly pets to strangers and any one that is visiting your home. This is not the breed you are looking for if you need a guard dog. They are extremely playful and love to jump and bounce and run. Note that a lot of Dalmatians have digestive problems, kidney issues and hearing problem or deaf. If you decide that the Dalmatian is the breed of your choice you need to visit the vet immediately.
