Michigan Supreme Court: State Primary is Constitutional

According to the Taxpayers United Michigan Foundation, the Michigan Supreme court has finally declared the Michigan Primary Presidential Elections constitutional.

Governor Jennifer Granholm and Secretary of state Terri Lynn Land have seconded this decision. This ruling came after the Michigan court of appeals and the Ingham county circuit court chief judge William Collette agreed that it was unconstitutional that Chairman Mark Brewer of the Michigan Democratic Party, Chairman Saul Anuzis of the Michigan Republican party and the Michigan Secretary of state gave the chairmen of both the major political parties the exclusive rights to copy and sell the names and addresses of all voters.

The final four Supreme Court Justices gave a ruling against Plaintiff Mark Grebner (Grebner vs Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land; Michigan Supreme Court Docket No. 135274) and Amicus Curiae (Friend of the Court) who were supporters of the Plaintiffs. Grebner, who works for Practical Political Consultants in E.Lansing where he puts together and sells mailing lists to political parties and candidates for campaign financing and sends political campaign literature to homes along with Christmas cards and letters, told the court about his financial interest in who controls the records of Democrat and Republican Voters for the upcoming elections in Michigan.

Both the democratic as well as republican candidates have suddenly dug out issues pertaining to Michigan, which did not seem important in the Presidential Primaries in Iowa, New Hampshire etc. Voters are getting nightmares listening to the election promises made by the candidates.

The Christmas season has been spoiled for the people of Michigan who have to keep listening to the political campaigns of both candidates on their television and radio where the presidential primary candidates are demanding the US pullout of Michigan military troops in Iraq. At the same time, Congressmen are tightening the budget needed for the war against terrorism and for the security of the people of the United States.
