With so many varieties of British baked beans to choose from, it is hard to settle for just one. HP Baked Beans is a great variety that is just as good as Heinz Baked Beans, if not better and at a fraction of the cost!

I bought 4 cans of HP Baked Beans for just 25p each. That is a good price for a 420g can. Baked beans can cost twice as much as that, depending on which brand you buy.

Suitable for Vegetarians

As is true for most British brands of baked beans, HP Baked Beans are suitable for vegetarians. This brand of baked beans is also gluten free, which is great for people who are gluten intolerant and have to watch their diet closely.

Recyclable

HP Baked Beans are not only good for you; they are good for the environment too. The steel that is used to make the cans is recyclable.

Heating Instructions

There are two ways to heat HP Baked Beans. You can heat them over a medium heat on the hob while stirring, before they reach a boil or you can microwave them for up to 3 minutes, based on a 650w microwave. With an 800w microwave, 1 minute is usually sufficient to heat baked beans through all the way.

Ingredients

HP Baked Beans is made up of 49% beans, 27% tomatoes, paprika, white pepper, spices and other ingredients. It is not made up of artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Leftovers

Leftovers should be immediately removed from the can and placed into another container, treated as fresh food and consumed quickly to prevent the food from going off.

Nutrition

HP Baked Beans contain 178kcal in every 210g serving, as well as 9.8g of protein, 0.4g of saturated fat and an impressive 7.7g of fibre. This product is a nutritious and healthy food for all the family to enjoy.

Serving Suggestion

HP Baked Beans can be eaten with toast, for a quick lunch. It can also be served as part of a cooked, full English breakfast comprised of fried eggs, toast, fried tomato, bacon, sausage and washed down with a cup of tea or coffee. HP Baked Beans can also be eaten with grilled or barbecued fish, steak or chicken.

I've never heard of HP, but it's surely not Hewlett-Packard! Ha-ha! They sound good. With such a unique can, I think I would have remembered seeing them on the grocery store shelf.
