Webkinz has taken the world by storm, from kids to adults, everyone is gaga over Webkinz. Do you want to be the star of your neighborhood? Why not create a winter wonderland themed window display using your beloved Webkinz collection? This is not only a good way to spread good cheer during the Holidays but it is also a good way to make use and display of your Webkinz collectibles.

Materials:

A street facing window
Plywood or MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)
Saw
Sturdy Cardboard or Illustration board (with size enough to cover the width and height of your window)
Duct tape
Paint (assorted colors or art or water color)
Sturdy table (ex: work table or work bench or unused writing desk)
Assorted Webkinz plush toys
Glitters
Styrofoam
Cotton batting
Scissors
Cutter
Cut-outs of snowflakes
White strings
Holiday ornaments
Holiday lights
Spotlights
Adhesive tape
A couple or more helping hands (your kids or your neighbors' kids for a more fun project)
Holiday music

Instructions:

Step1: Pick out the window that is facing the street, if you have multiple windows, pick the most prominent one. It is also a good idea to create a window display on the center window, free from obstruction. If you prefer, you can also create a series of window displays rather than just one, so if you have three windows facing the street, create three window displays.

Step 2: Clean your windows, it should be free from dirt and smudge. If you live in a place that snows, just make sure that your window gets cleaned up all the time. Pull back the curtains and draw up the blinds if you have any. For a better view, you may want to temporarily remove the window treatments and put them back after the holidays.

Step 3: Clear out the space enough to place a sturdy table where your window display will be placed. Remove any over-sized furnishings or any obstructions.

Step 4: Place a sturdy table wide enough to fit the bottom ledge of your window. Best to use a folding work desk you can find at office supplies store sold for $49/each. It is made of sturdy plastic and can be easily stored and can be uses in many ways like craft projects, party table, etc. So investing in one or two is not a bad idea.

Takeaways
  • Pick out the most prominent window facing the street for your window display.
  • Use your Webkinz collectibles to create a beautiful winter wonderland window display.
  • Have your kids and their friends to help out to make it more fun!

I went to the Webkinz site for the first time after reading this article. Looks like something my kids would love. I also like the fact that the chat feature only allows you to choose phrases from a list provided by W so your kid cannot give out personal info.
