I'm telling you right now that I have written the most important and informative paper known to man. This will change the world and all the thoughts are here in my head. And here I sit in front of my computer screen ready to tell this idea to you. It goes like... Well, it's kind of like... Well, it's something. I mean, I know what it is but... Where the heck did my ability to use words go? I know where I am and I know where I want to go, but I don't know whether to take the freeway, surface streets, or to run around in circles and bark like a dog. We've all been here and here is writer's block.

Writer's block is that terrible little idea that blocks us from being able to express our otherwise amazing ideas. It locks us down and seems to throw away the key. I may have a million little notes written on my note pad about how I want this story, or paper, or film, or song to go, but the right way to word it. It eludes me.
But Steven, I hear you say, why would you sit here and ramble on about writer's block? We know what it is and we hate it as much as you do.
Yes, you may hate it. However, I have a different feeling towards writers block. I enjoy conquering it. If every idea that came to our minds was easily flowing, then what would be the challenge of writing? The best feeling in the world, at least to me, is the feeling of having that block lifted and scrambling down on a piece of paper everything that flows afterwards until I have somehow created a link between the industrial revolution and the creation of soft serve ice cream. It's a rush. It's finishing the test and knowing you have the answers right. It's scoring the final point in your sports event of choice. It's what makes living worth living. It feels nice.

That's all well and good, but you're reading this to try to find out how to beat writer's block. Well, I give to you all the Steven Garone method of defeating writer's block and getting on your way to completing that novel, paper, or movie.
