All over the United States there are disappearing bees. No one seems to understand why they are vanishing. Just try to think this through is astonishing. The bees pollinate fruits and the vegetables and also the flowers and the wheat. Both in which we use and the wheat in many things we consume. Try to just think and imagine this, if we do not have bees to pollinate we would be thrown into a famine. This would mean no food for any one any where. The American bees are mysteriously vanishing, which threatens our crops and our plants. A lot of people think honey bees are only important for the honey they produce. That is so far from a wrong point of view. The scientists are really racing to figure out the reasons why. It seems all across our country the bees by the billions are suddenly vanishing. The other researchers are thinking that there might be a virus for the bee's disappearance. This mystery could affect everyone. The things we eat depend on the bees pollinating. There are a few adult bees left only to raise the next generation, so their hives die. In the state of Pennsylvania a beekeeper reported to the researchers what's become known of once the colony has collapsed. Another beekeeper said he went to pick up 400 bee colonies and the bees had just disappeared.
There were no dead bees and no bees on the ground, just the empty boxes. While they have did bee keeping for many years around 50 or so they had never see anything like this at all. Mr.Hackenberg said he has lost over 1,900 to his 2,900 hives. Other bee keepers said they have lost up to 90% of their hives. It has been estimated 14 billion United States dollars in our agricultural crops in the United States are rally dependent on the bee pollinations. With the large commercial bee keepers all keep up to 10,000 colonies. When a hive is affected by Colony Collapse Disorder or short CCD, most of the adults abandon the hive and disappear. There are no carcasses are even found near the hives, the bees are just gone.
