You have been surfing the Internet for awhile now and you see all the different web pages and you keep thinking about starting your own web page but you don't know anything about HTML programming and you don't have any money to get started.

First of all you don't need any money to start your own web site on the Internet. There are a number of free sites that will host your page on the net. These sites are Tripod.com, Angelfire.com, Geocities.com, and Fortunecity.com just to name a few.

I started out at Tripod.com and I like it the best because most other free hosting sites limit the file size and types of files that can be uploaded to your site. But Tripod will let you upload almost any file size or file type that you want to use on your page. Also you can upload your files to your new site by using their upload page or you can use your browser or an FTP client to upload right to your page.

There are limitations to free hosting with most of the free sites you only get about 20MB of disk space and 1 gigabyte of bandwidth per month but that is more then enough for a good number of web pages and some fair traffic.

Also most free hosting sites will but banner ads at the top and bottom of your pages. They are not really that much of a bother you get used to seeing them after awhile and forget that they are there.

No to build your website you have some options. If you don't know anything about HTML most of the hosting sites have on line web page builders that you can use. The mainly consist of templates that you can choose from with backgrounds and some images and you add your own text and pictures to it. These web page builders do a fair job for the first time user and you can always add more as you go along.

If you want to learn how to program in HTML There is a good website to help you learn HTML programing call htmlclinic.com. There you can learn what all the commands that HTML has to offer.
