While studying the book of Genesis, I received an epiphany when I read Genesis chapter 3. Please read Genesis chapter 3 and tell me what the problems are with Eve. The problems are regarding the things she did leading up to her eating the fruit of the forbidden tree and disobeying the Word of God. Remember, Eve knew what God said through what Adam told her, however, she decided she knew better after talking with the serpent. According to the Bible book of James chapter 1 verse 14- 15: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. “Remember, Eve could not be deceived by the serpent according to James 1:14-15 and in fact, Eve was tempted by her own lust. Read it and let me know what your thoughts are.

WHAT
You see, Adam told Eve not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, she purposely began to figure out in her mind, why? “Why not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?” This is where Genesis chapter 3 verse 1 kicks in: the spirit of evil that was already upon the earth began to speak to her and make subtle suggestions to Eve. Now the serpent knew that he could not get Adam to listen to his suggestions, but Eve, she was another story. Have you watched the old Eddie Murphy movie remake "Dr. Doolittle"? Imagine a serpent talking to Eve as stated in Genesis Chapter 3 verses 1-5 and Eve talking back to the serpent.

The serpent says: “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Now that was a lie, because that was not what God told Adam and not what Adam told Eve.

Instead of Eve just ending the conversation and running back to Adam to tell him that the serpent lied to her, she wanted to talk about what she was told by Adam with the serpent.

Eve said: "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."

Takeaways
  • Eve was tempted by her own lust.
  • The serpent told Eve that she would be like gods knowing good and evil.
  • Adam sinned because he knowingly disobeyed God's commandment to him.
Did You Know?
It is written Adam ate the fruit because Eve gave it to him and he compromised mankind by loosing his innocence.

Adam caused Eve to eat the fruit of pride. He convinced her, he knew more than God. He was created subject to vanity.(Romans) Then she started to worship the creature more than the creator. When Adam recieved her worship, he fell in pride. All sin is done in the heart! When Herod recieved the praise of men that he was a god, he was struck dead. Same thing happened to Adam. Satan, is the name of the carnal mind, that is the opponent of Christ. When mans soul is not subject to the Spirit of God, it is anti-christ. If the mind of man is subject to the spirit of God, it is very powerful and works in perfect unity together. Just like a husband and wife is supposed to be. When the soul wants to rule over the spirit, there is a battle. Sadly many marriages are a battle instead of a blessing. Jesus spoke in parables. From the beginning of His word, to the end of His word. The garden is the temple or church, or, kingdom of God and this kingdom is in us now! Know ye not , ye' are' the temple of

Wow, a lot of debate, but the truth of the matter is that the Bible is the inspired word of God and the FINAL authority to every other book ever written. God is God and He's more than able to get across His mind and His heart. If you are not saved and don't have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, there is no way you can truly accept or even understand the heart of God because you do not belong to Him. Don't ever follow man's voice or his words...pray and ask God for revelation knowledge yourself. Be Blessed!

FACTSRFICTION, First of all let me apologize for the late response. I have not been on line for a while. I want you and everyone else who reads these articles I write, I am not a religious person. However both you and I read the Bible because it is the greatest book ever written. I also read all sorts of other books about human psychology and sociology. So I am not simply blindly following the Bible. You do have my premise correct though. I do believe that Eve should have simply listened to Adam and stayed away from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. The rest of your statement I don't believe in and I know the Bible does not condone women being slaves to men or men being slaves to women. All I was writing about is what happened in the Garden with Adam and Eve from my perspective. The slavery thing is another article all together. I hope this clears some things up for you and other readers. Thank you for your comments and please continue to

Well FACTSRFICTI what I am saying is Adam should have obeyed GOD. If you believe the bible is a book of fiction then so is your birth certificate fiction. Did you fill out your own birth certificate? Or did some person fill it out? All we all know is what somebody told us right? So since it is a fact that everything we know is based on what somebody told us or what we read. I choose to believe what I want too okay. You are free to believe what you want too. Religion or Spirituality is a choice we all have to make. The reason there are so much hate and chaos in the world is because mankind chooses to follow our flesh Galations Ch 5v19 and listen to the devil, who's M.O. is to steal, kill and destroy. The Bible just offers us eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Do you believe that it was already in Adams heart to eat of the the tree of knowledge? Remember the Lord Jesus Christ said "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Remember what Adam said to God "It was the woman you gave me; she gave me of the fruit and I did eat." Sounds like Adam said I will blame Eve and God for what I alread had in my heart to do. Do you believe that Eve could only Tempt him? Do you believe Adam like mankind today wants to blame everybody but themselves for not obeying the Word of God? If so then you believe that Eve was deceived based on her response to God and Adam denied any responsibilty for his choice, thereby, committing High Treason against Gods' commandment. This is an interpertation too. Adam was only responsible for the choice he made to personally disobey the one Commandment; which is the reason sin is in the world today.

Pastor Ethan why is it written "By one man, sin entered into the world." The word of God does not say by one woman or one couple sin entered into the world. I believe you need to study the Word of God with an open mind. I know like Adam blamed God and Eve; you want to still blame the woman uh? The Lord Jesus Christ is the Second Adam. Not the second Adam and Eve okay. The Bible was written by Holy Men of God who was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write by the power of the Holy Spirit what God wanted mankind to know concerning His plan of salvation for mankind. I hope you get your study on and leave your opinions on the shelf. Are you really a pastor? Since we all will stand or fall by our personal desires and not by temptation; I have to believe that Adam already had the desire to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. As far as the divorce situation. I believe that the spouses who do not fight for the marrage is the one God will hold responsible. And then and only th

Hello Question Everything, I want to give you my perspective on your questions about the Bible, Adam and Eve, why Eve was created from Adams rib and why the Bible is so sexist. My perspective is based on what I know about history and the Bible. 1) The nature of man is to hunt and dominate. Because men are stronger physically than most women, they were historically able to dominate culture and through the domination of culture the world became sexist, not just the Bible. So you can say that the Bible is sexist because the world is sexist and that is the natural order of things. 2) Because the Bible is written by humans, their very well could be things missing that should be there and vise versa, however, you must understand this is no different than any other historical document. For instance, the declaration of independence for the United States of America was written by men, however they based it off of what they believed in the written Bible. 3) God did not need Adams rib to c

The Bible was put together by fallible humans. Most of what is in it or should have been in it was changed to suit their needs at the time. How do we know for sure that Adam didn't tempt Even with the apple? Why did God need Adam's ribs to create Eve when he created everything else from scratch? Why is their no chapter in the Bible told from the point of view of a woman? Why is the Bible so sexist?

Hello DBW, I want to answer your questions. 1) God holds the person responsible who commits the act. So the person who filed for the divorce would be held responsible, even if the other spouse did not fight the divorce. Don't forget what the Apostal Paul says in the scripture about if an unbeliever wants to go, let them. 2) No one, man or woman, should listen to anyone, man or women, when they are outside of Gods word. It is not possible for us to know what is Gods will all of the time, but the Bible is a teacher for us to understand and have wisdom in making decisions about whom and what to listen to. 3) If anyone listens to someone who is outside of what the Bible says and they don't have the sense to know it, then they are being taken advantage of, but if they have sense to know it, then it is their choice and they can only blame themselves. This leaves the question of "how can you judge what someone else knows or does not know?" The answer is, only through what they say

Women are still responsible for obeying the mans instructions. The bottom line is that we need to teach the right type of love. "LOVE NOT THE WORLD" nor the things in the world. It's been quoted, that if you want to show a husband how to love his wife and the wife her husband, then we need to teach the people how to love God. Think about this.

This just goes to show you that a Man should not listen to a woman when she is outside the will of Gods' word uh? However, if he do he cannot blame nobody but himself right? Pastor Ethan I would like answers to these questions. Please do not take too long answering my questions.

After reading your article I believe the same problem Adam had in the Garden is the same problem mankind is having today. Yes Eve gave Adam the fruit to eat; but Adam already had it in his heart to eat the fruit. Today mankind will already have it in their heart to divorce their spouses; so when the spouses files for a divorce there will not be a fight to stop the divorce. Who does God hold responsible for divorce the person who filed or the person who did not fight against the divorce? Pastor Ethan answer this question please.
