Sometimes in life, we are all faced with issues for which we do not want to deal with or feel we have been ill prepared. Life as it is, makes you deal with the situation anyway. I am going to speak on teenagers (as I once was one myself) of today and what they know as opposed to what they don't know and the reasons why.

For years, I have been watching my boys grow up and I do mean watching (like a hawk). When they were wrong, I would correct them, no matter what. When they were right, I stood by them, no matter what. And I do mean no matter what because I am not their friend, I am their parent and there is a big difference between the two. My boys were taught about life and it's happenings from me and me alone. I didn't want them to have questions about anything and have to go to some outside source to find the answers, which would either be sugar coated or absolutely wrong. I was given the responsibility of being a parent whether I wanted it or not and that is what I have to be from now until the day I die. I can lighten up on them but never just let them go awry because God only knows what would have happened if I would have let them pretend to raise themselves.

I have watched as friends children have totally gone off the deep end, in my opinion. They are rude, mean, nasty, ignorant, demanding, selfish, argumentative, disrespectful, and have trashy mouths, and this is the girls I am speaking of! Imagine that. I am always asking why they put up with that type of talk and behavior from their children and they say 'there is nothing I can do about it'. How sick is that? These are girls that I have watched grow from birth and they have no sense of self-respect or self-worth and it's absolutely ridiculous. It is to the point where adults won't even go around anymore because of the children's behaviors. Now, who do you blame for that one? No one but the parent(s). Who else can possibly be to blame for not teaching the children properly if there is no one else in their lives on a day to day basis?
