While talking to people attending a dog fair recently a man told me that he did not have to cook for his pet because "my dog eats what I eat." Since he did not
stop to talk, I cringed inside knowing that he must surely be feeding foods that are toxic, indigestible, or provoke illness in his dog. Another man told me
that "(my wife) does not even cook for me, and now she wants to cook for the dog." Apparently he had two problems: 1. His wife does not cook him meals
and 2.the wife apparently likes the dog better than him. Who knows if either is really true, since he laughed as he made his comment.
The wife bought my pet food cookbook and thanked me, as she smiled and walked away.

The foods that people commonly eat can be dangerous to feed dogs, pups, cats, and kittens. My Top Ten List follows:
1. Garlic
2. Onions
3. Raisins/grapes
4. Chocolate
5. Alcoholic beverages
6. All By-Products
7. Peppers
8. Pork
9. Corn
10. Ketchup/Barbecue Sauce

Another great article! When I was single I cooked for myself and my cats with the recipes tailored to them moreso than to me. It's easy enough to save seasoning until food is on the plate. With a little care and a good book like yours it's no harder cooking for the furry members of your family than for a diabetic human member.
