I love to eat cereal for breakfast and sometimes even dinner. I typically purchase Barbara's Bakery natural cereals because they don't have tons of sugar and preservatives added. I have been enjoying Annie's "Shells and White Cheddar" for years, so when I saw that Annie's had a new cereal out, I thought I would give it a try.

Price

I bout a 9 oz box at my local wild oats market for about $4.25, this is somewhat more than I am used to paying for Barbara's cereals which I usually get on sale for about $2.99 to $3.29

About Annie's Products

Annie's Homegrown makes a variety of natural products many of which are also Organic. They are most famous for their delicious macaroni and cheese which is all natural and comes in a variety of flavors and shapes.

Taste

I tried the product both dry and with milk. At first bite, I thought the flavor was pretty good, but then quickly noticed that I'm really only tasting the cinnamon. Given that the cereal is made from both corn and oat, I was expecting to taste more of those flavors. Instead I would say that it tastes more like it's made from paper. They are even less flavorful than plain Cheerios. The texture is pretty good, they have a nice crunch but it doesn't make up for the lack of flavor. I even tried mixing them with my favorite Barbara's Puffins along with some dried cranberries, but the Annie's Cinna Bunnies tend to leave a dry bitter flavor in my mouth.
Judging by their cute name (Cinna Bunnies) and the fact that they have Bernie the Bunny games on the back of the box, I would say that they are designed for children. However, I doubt that many children would like this cereal; even kids that are used to eating natural cereals would probably find these hard to swallow.

Nutrition

According to the box, Cinna Bunnies are low fat, vegan, grown and processed without GMO's, contain no cholesterol and in addition, have 0g of trans and saturated fats.

A serving size, ¾ cup of cereal contains 130 calories, 5 of which are from fat. They also have 7 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 28 grams of carbohydrates, 0 mg of cholesterol and 210 mg of sodium.
