One of the most enjoyable parts of Christmas is decorating for the holiday season. After the Christmas tree is up, the outdoor lights are strung, the stairs and mantel are decorated, what's left to decorate? Don't forget to decorate your Christmas windows.

There are many ways to decorate Christmas windows. I like the classic candle in every window. And, of course, you can always put lights around each window. To make decorating windows for Christmas even more fun and special, my family and I take it one step further. Here are some different Christmas decoration ideas for windows. The great thing about them is that every one of these Christmas windows decorating ideas is fun, easy, and very inexpensive.

The easiest and probably least expensive idea for decorating Christmas windows is making paper snowflakes. Make paper snowflakes with the whole family to hang up on your Christmas windows. Paper snowflakes can be made from all types of paper, including plain copier paper, construction paper, tissue paper, and even Christmas wrapping paper. For more information, read "How to Make Paper Snowflakes". It's easy to display paper snowflakes in your Christmas windows. Just attach them to the windows with regular tape. Or use double-sided tape.

The next way to decorate Christmas windows is by painting them. Before you think I'm crazy, I have a recipe that I use to paint Christmas windows that makes the holiday display very easy to remove once Christmas is over. If you don't want to make your own washable paint, you can buy window markers. They are washable and inexpensive. Be sure not to use paint that is made for painting on glass, unless it says that it's washable. Paint specifically made for glass is formulated so that it would be difficult to remove.

We lived in a house when the kids were little that had a huge picture window in the living room. We painted a scene on the entire window. The kids loved it. I still have the photo of them grinning in front of their Christmas window creation to prove it.

My sister does the window painting. It is so amazing what she can do. People even hire her to do theirs. I can't paint a lick myself.
