The Christmas holidays are a season of lights, celebration and festivities. Milwaukee is a city full of Christmas spirit. Following are some of the holiday highlights in Milwaukee and in the Milwaukee area.

Holiday Lights in Milwaukee. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is all decked out and decorated for the Christmas holiday season. Families who enjoy holiday light shows can find a evening of free entertainment by driving the streets of the city. Electric blue lights adorn trees creating a sense of excitement throughout the city.

Large sections of holiday light displays can be found at Cathedral Square and in the historic Old World Third Street area. City blocks are filled with lighted Christmas trees and lighted animated figures. The anchor of Cathedral Square is the grand lighted cathedral

The Nutcracker Ballet at Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Holiday fantasy danced to music by Tchaikovsky. Visions of sugarplums, dancing toys, a handsome prince and an innocent girl Christmas at the Tannenbaum family home is told with music and movement.

The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition that many people look forward to every year. The ballet is performed December 14-29, 2007 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 929 N. Water Street in Downtown Milwaukee. Tickets: 1-414-902-2103.

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Symphony performs at Uhlein Hall in Milwaukee and also takes their show on the road to some outlying communities. Tickets 1-414-291-7602. MSO holiday programs include:
