Overview

High gas prices have forced many consumers to reconsider their choice of vehicles to drive. While many of us enjoy the sportier gas hogs or the roomier Sedans, the new Honda Pilot SUV offers a powerful 244-hp engine and exceptional gas mileage that makes it the perfect choice for commuting to work or traveling. In fact the Honda Pilot was recognized as the most fuel-efficient eight-passenger SUV on the road which comes as a surprise when you consider that the Pilot holds up to eight passengers. The classy Pilot also comes with new engineering and safety features, as well as a few of the comforts of home adding to the convenience that only the Honda Pilot has to offer. One of the better features included in the new 2WD models is the Variable Cylinder Management or (VCM). This feature was designed to boost the mileage and economy of the Honda Pilot without sacrificing power when you need it most. The four-door, eight-passenger Honda Pilot comes in two trim levels, the 4WD LX and 4WD EX or the 2WD LX and 2WD EX.

Five Honda Pilot Models to Choose From

The 4WD LXcomes with a V-6 engine, up to 4,500 pounds of towing capacity, and best of all it has a front and rear air-conditioning system that includes an air-filtration system. For added safety the LX features front side air bags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System. The price for the Pilot LX starts at $28,195

The 4WD EX doesn’t have as many features as the LX, but its still pretty savvy. One of the better safety features included with the EX is the three-row side curtain air bag with a rollover sensor. The Pilot EX also comes with a synchronized automatic climate control system, and a AM/FM/XM 6-disc in-dash CD changer audio system with seven speakers with a remote system. The price for the Pilot EX starts at $30,745

The 2WD LX has a 5-speed automatic transmission, and features dual-stage, dual-threshold front air bags with weight and position sensors. The Pilot 2WD LX also comes with air conditioning, and remote entry with an AM/FM/CD-AUDIO system that comes with four speakers. The starting price for this model starts at $ 26,995
