I drifted out of silence, out of the internal darkness.
Only for a moment did I hear the silent screams.
The night screeching for its moment of peace.
The night is never peaceful and the darkness never sleeps.
And I wish for just a moment, a moment that would take my breathe;
Or...maybe my mind could just pause,
Yes...even so just for a minute, an hour, or eternity.
It was so quiet, so dark;
Yet, I am not at peace;
Quivering in the coldness;
Blinded by denial.
I hear the pattering of little feet.
And now I realize...the light will never come.

I like your poetry, however dark, it remains provocative.

I'm wondering what the little feet represent

Feeling a little blue? Sounds like something is holding you back.

Thank you Chris. It has been a while since I have written poems. Glad to have someone read one for the first time.
