Baby Shower or Baby Gift Ideas

I know sometimes it can be hard to think of a gift for a friend or relative who is expecting so here are a few ideas for the next baby shower that you attend or if you want to give a friend or relative who is expecting.

A Bath Gift Basket. Every mom is going to be bathing her baby so a bath gift basket is a great idea. My favorites to have in a bath gift basket are body wash, lotion, baby powder, Q-tips, baby oil, wash cloths, and baby bath towels. If you know the sex of the baby then for a boy blues and masculine prints are a good idea, if you know it's a girl then pinks, or feminine prints are appropriate. If the sex of the baby is unknown though then you could always just go with neutral colors like white, orange, yellow, and green.

Sleepers And Outfits. Clothes always make a great gift. I would go by the same rules that if the sex of the baby is known to go with pink or feminine for a girl and blue or masculine for a boy. Also if the sex is unknown then a neutral color is best. You could also put them in a basket with the bath products I suggested, the basic needs basket, or you could also give a blanket as well.

Diaper Bag. A diaper bag makes a great gift, that way mom can have the things she needs for baby while she is away from home. You could give the diaper bag as a gift itself, or mix and match with any of the other items I suggested.

Basic Needs Basket. A basic needs basket to me would consist of diapers, Vaseline, wipes, and things of that nature. Also you could throw in bottles, soothers, and a small toy. You could also mix and match a bunch of items from either gift basket I suggested.

Blankets. A new mom can always use blankets whether they be crib comforters, receiving blankets, or a crib combo which consists of the sheets, comforter, and bumper pads. Another great gift idea could also be a mobile or some sort of soothing toy to put on the inside of the crib. One year I crocheted a friend that was expecting a baby afghan that was blue, pink, purple, and white as she knew she was having a girl and it really meant a lot to my friend as it was something I made myself.
