Agents who were assigned to the Ajo Border Patrol Station came in contact with a pickup truck that was going north on Federal Route 34 and traveling through the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation. When the agents came up behind the truck, it picked up speed and headed into the desert at mile maker 32, in the vicinity of the village of Hickiwan. The agents followed the tracks and found the truck abandoned. When they examined it, they found 61 packages of marijuana weighing a total of 1,413 pounds
The second incident happened at about 10:00 P.M.. Border Patrol agents from the Casa Grande Station who were working near the village of San Miguel, again on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation saw two trucks moving north from the International Boundary on Federal Route 19. Not long after, the trucks pulled off the road just outside the village and then sped back across the border again. When the agents arrived at the area where the trucks had stopped, they again followed that tracks and found a total of 55 bundles of marijuana weighing a total of 1,142 pounds.
And the last seizure took place early Thursday morning near post 5 on Federal Route 19 again near the village of San Miguel on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation. A resident of the reservation had made a call to 911 and had reported that he had found a large quantity of marijuana that had been hidden on his property. The agents arrived at the residents at about 7: 00 A.M. and they found a total of 86 bundles of marijuana weighing 2,132 pounds
