Visits from family and friends are a sure thing around the holiday season and many times these family members and friends bring their children. You cannot expect to have a gift for every child that pops in your door. How do you handle these situations? By giving the children their own little candy tube that you were thoughtful enough to prepare for them. The entire completion of the candy tube will take less than five minutes for each one and it will barely cost you anything to make.

What you'll need:

Paper towel cardboard tubes
Toilet paper cardboard tubes
Bright wrapping paper
Ribbon
Scissors
Wide Paintbrush
Glue
A variety of candy
Label (any size will do)

Everyone has toilet paper and paper towel cardboard tubes that usually end up in the garbage. These items will be quite useful in this project. First, find out how much wrapping paper you need for each tube by completely wrapping the tube and leaving 3-4 inches of wrapping paper extending off either side of the ends of the tube.

When you have your wrapping paper ready, take your wide paintbrush and make a thin coat of glue all over the tube. Quickly and carefully, wrap up the tube in the wrapping paper you cut (remember to leave 3-4 inches of the paper extending off the ends of the tube on either side!) Smooth out any lumps and wait for the glue to dry. When the glue is completely dry, take the paper extending off of the one side of one end of the tube (Don't twist the paper too hard or the paper will tear), twist the base of it, and tie the piece of ribbon into a bow around the base. . This will seal off one end of the tube.

Now you are halfway done. Fill the tube with any type of candy you wish. When it is completely filled with candy, twist the open end of the extended wrapping paper at the base (just like you did on the other side) and tie the piece of ribbon into a bow around the base of that side.

Finally, place the label anywhere you wish on the tube and write a holiday greeting. You now have a very cute, very inexpensive gift for any child that comes walking through your front door. This little gesture is sure to put a smile not only on the child's face, but on that of their parents face also.
