So, you got that new bonus from work and have no clue what to do with it. You could waste it all on ten dollar lottery tickets hoping to hit it big, or you could spend it on something a more practical and I'm not talking about using the money on poker either. Obviously a new laptop or PC is an option, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this article. Well, unless you're related to me (Hi mom). So, when it comes down to it, why do you need a laptop? Well, there are a few reasons really. Your PC could be big and clunkly and you're looking to streamline for the future. You're current laptop could be an old AMD and slowly burning a
hole in whatever surface you have it on. Case and point, you want one and you don't know what to get, or why to get it. Well, ladies and gentlemen (and mom, hi again.) allow me to put your worries to rest and the terrors of buying *Gasp* consumer electronics to ease.

So, first things first. Let's make sure you're buying a laptop for all the right reasons. Outlined below are reasons TO buy a laptop and reasons NOT TO buy a laptop.

REASONS TO BUY A LAPTOP

1) Your old PC/Laptop fell in acid/water/juice/Playdough(don't ask).

2) Your old laptop, more than four years old, stops running and the
repair cost is greater than 200 dollars.

3) Your current laptop runs Windows ME.

4) While playing solitaire is nice and good and fine most of the time, you have
a  strange yearning to explode something in full on 3D glory.(Note: losing at
minesweeper doesn't count exploding something in full 3D glory).

5) YOU Y-O-U (The one with the money) want one.

REASONS TO NOT BUY A LAPTOP

1) You're current PC, no matter how bulky, runs fine and does all that you and your family need it to do. In a case like this, if your income can support a purchase of a laptop, and it's not going to break the bank, then by all means, splurge. But if this is how your spending the entire family's Christmas/Vacation/Horrible Accident occurs and I need a brain transplant money, please wait until a new PC/Laptop is of paramount importance.

Takeaways
  • Buying a computer is a complicated, yet exicting process
  • Just because you can buy a computer, doesn't mean you should.
  • Be sure to weigh monetary issues when it comes to purchasing a computer.

Hardcore Gangster Rapper 50 cent is helping engineer a program where laptops (that run via crank in a powered spring) will be sold for only 50 dollars to inner city street gangs to keep them off the streets.
