There was always a love of flying things during my childhood. My infatuation with flying objects probably started when I was a little baby. I can remember my father making flying airplanes for my older brother and flying them around the house. They even purchased little cardboard airplanes that flew in the air for a couple of seconds. This soon followed with remote control airplanes and even flying rockets. As I became older, I fell more in love with rockets. I loved building them and launching them outside. You could only do this a few times because they would break. Once they broke, your moment of excitement is over and you could never relive that same moment again. Estes Astrovision is changing that with the introduction of the Digital Video Rocket.

Excitement ran through my body once I found out that Estes Astrovision was releasing the Digital Video Rocket. They have created a product that will truly allow you to enjoy that first flight of your skyrocket over and over again. The best part of all is that the company is making it very affordable as well. You can own one of the Digital Video Rockets for only $60. Originally set to be released in September, the rocket was released in October and quickly sold out. They are now very available and feature a cool video camera to tape that wonderful rocket launch.

Estes Astrovision has been creating toy rockets for kids for quite some time. This is why it is exciting to see such a reliable name move into the world of using digital cameras. Each rocket comes mounted with a camera in the nosecone of the Astrovision rocket. The camera has the ability to record a 12 second clip of actual flying action. Your video will have a resolution of 640x 480 from as high as 500 feet. Another specification is that the rocket comes equipped with the recommended C-sized engine. What this means is that all of you people who like modifying their rockets should not modify the engine of this one. This could cause the flight and overall video taping experience to not go as planned.

Hi, I just want to let you know that the Estes AstroVision rocket is not Window Vista compatible. In fact, Sandra at Estes customer service says "At this time none of our products are Vista compatible and we do not offer a "patch." Estes has known about this problem for quite some time and is not honoring their policy of a one year warranty against manufactures defects. Websters Dictionary describes defect as "Lack of something necessary for completeness." Sandra goes on to say "I understand the item was purchased in November 2007, if the store is not willing to refund your money due to a return policy they have, perhaps they will offer you a store credit? This product was created prior to the "Vista" program, therefore it is not compatible with the Vista program." On the AstroVision box it list minimum requirements. These minimum requirements are met by everyone running the Vista program. Just thought you should know. Em
