Stove Top Stuffing is a popular household name in many American households. There are many different kinds to choose from. Turkey stuffing is a good accompaniment to roast turkey or chicken. Stove Top Stuffing is quick and easy to make and is versatile enough to be served in a variety of different ways. This article will review Stove Top Mushroom & Onion Stuffing by Kraft.

Stove Top Mushroom & Onion Stuffing by Kraft is rarely available at our local supermarket. When we do find it, we stock up the pantry, as it is not sold too often.

Easy to Prepare

For families who are familiar with Stove Top Stuffing, they will know that it is very quick and easy to prepare. There is no need to slave for hours in the kitchen in order to prepare a homemade stuffing for a roast, casserole or other meal. Kraft has already done most of the work. Boil 1 ½ cups of water and 4 tbsp of margarine (optional) in a medium sized saucepan. Then stir in the contents of the Stuffing Mix. Once that is done, remove the pan from the heat and cover the saucepan. Wait for about 5 minutes for the water to be absorbed, fluff it with a fork and then serve. It is as simple as that. Supervised children can assist with preparing the family meal by taking responsibility for the stuffing.

Taste

Out of all the other varieties of Stove Top Stuffing that I have tried, I would have to say that the Mushroom & Onion Stuffing is the best. You can really taste and appreciate the mushroom and onion.

Not Suitable for Vegetarians

Unfortunately, Stove Top Mushroom & Onion Stuffing by Kraft is not suitable for vegetarians, as it makes use of chicken and chicken broth products.

Nutrition

There are 110 calories per 28g portion of dry mix stuffing, no saturated fat (unless you add margarine or butter), less than 5mg of cholesterol and 400mg of sodium. In order to enjoy a healthier stuffing along with the rest of your meal, it is best to avoid adding butter or margarine and there is no need to add any salt, as there is already 400mg of sodium in each stuffing pouch, or 17% of a person's daily allowance, which is a significantly high amount.

I've never seen this variety, but really enjoy Stove Top. I will have to look again. I probably just haven't noticed it because I always get the chicken flavor.

I like Stove Top although we haven't had it in some time. I have never tried this kind though. I will have to look for it next time we are at the store.
