When our grandmother's were growing up and they became wives they most likely were stay at home mothers. Back then, a man was the only money maker and women were content with house duties and being there when the kids got home from school. Let's face it, when you think of life then you get the image of June Cleaver over the sink doing dishes and wearing a spotless dress in a kitchen so clean you could eat off of the floor. The mother back then considered this her job and loved it.
Fast forwarding to today it is a world of working mothers. Some mothers work because they are the sole money maker and some work to help the family's financial needs. This has created mothers that only get limited time with their children. I personally became a single mom when my child was 3 months old for reasons beyond my control and started back to work and found that my current job demanded a lot of my time, say about 60-70 hours a week. My daughter grew up so fast and I hated missing all of her developmental milestones. I was lucky that my grandmother was her babysitter and I knew she was in good hands. I really wanted to stop working crazy hours and be able to enjoy my child before she became 20 years old. I started to go on a quest of finding ways to work at home and was surprised at how much was on the internet. If you are computer literate there are companies that pay you to take calls for their customer service area, sometimes it requires a small equipment upgrade. There are sites like this one that allows you to write for extra money. You can earn while playing your favorite pc games on the net. There is also something called Get-Paid-to sites that offer a small incentive for giving the advertisers the info that they request and there are some legitimate survey sites that pay you for your input. The list goes on and on.
The term work at home is being used more and more everyday and companies are finding that it is a good way to cut cost by employing someone that works at home. My friend worked for a big well known corporation and made a comment just in passing to her supervisor one day that her job could be done at home just as it is done at the company's building and a month later was asked to work at home. If you work for a company that might hear your idea out you might want to give it a try if you do something that could be done at home.
I do have a friend that does a few of the legit survey sites and pulls in an extra $200 a month. The one thing to be careful about is not to ever pay to get access to surveys, that is a blatant scam.
Remember never to pay for work at home job. Another thing to do is to research the company that you are interested in. The next thing is to make sure it is something that you will enjoy doing and something that will be profitable with your hard work.
Work at home jobs can be found and sometimes you can be lucky to have it be your full-time job. There all kinds of telecommuting jobs available. It does take a lot of homework to find the one that fits you and your skills.
