Beauty Pageant Tips: From Former and Current Pageant Queens

A Summary of My Research on Beauty Pageant Tips

In an effort to prepare my child for her second beauty pageant, I spent some time online looking for tips from former and current beauty pageant queens. Lots of time. Here are the beauty pageant tips that I found most useful.

Beauty Pageant Tip No. 1
Hire a beauty pageant coach:
I noticed that most of the girls who have won beauty pageants have coaches. These coaches charge approximately $100.00 an hour to guide beauty pageant hopefuls to the crown. Personally, I cannot fathom giving anyone $100.00 to coach a ten year old in a beauty pageant. I do feel they probably have good information though as most of them are repeat winners.

Beauty Pageant Tip No. 2
Natural makeup and hair:
Most past beauty pageant winners mention that having a natural look that is age appropriate is the best way to go. A child should look like a child. A teen should look like a teen. An adult should look like an adult. If the beauty pageant contestants are under age 13, there should be no visible makeup at all. Hair should be in a natural style and out of the face.

Beauty Pageant Tip No. 3
Classic interview suit:
Once again, the former and present beauty pageant queens suggest that the interview suit be a classic style, a color that works well for the contestant, and not be too flashy. You do not want your clothing to distract from what you are trying to say.

hey! my biggest tip is, stand out! were things no one else would think of! Bright colors are important! it is good, because if you stand out the judges, pay more attention to you! Also be different with your routines! have something cool and different! stand out people will notice you better!

My little one is going to be in her first pageant this year. We go watch every year to support friends. She loves to dress up. I think it is the parents place to make sure the child knows that winning isn't everything. Pageants are just for fun to strut your style.. and show how wonderful you are. I think it can also be an experience to teach them to be themselves for people do judge daily and it's important for them to know who they are and love themselves before anything else. We are all judged daily it's our choice to decide how it effects us. I hope she does well and I am taking all the advice to help her enjoy herself and make her feel comfortable on stage.

i think beauty pageants are sexist and that its bad to judge others and what if the child doesnt win that means their going to think that they're not pretty enough. i truly think paheant should be banned

Wieght is not a major factor. I have always been on the slightly bigger style and have won many many difficult pageants. My best advice is the dress. Don't go bright go with black with maybe white accents. Black is elegant and you will probably be the only one wearing it so you will definatly stand out.
