So as the holiday season once again draws close, cities across the country and even across the world have prepared to celebrate this glorious time of year. Lights, trees, santas, and more fill the streets this time of year and for a few short weeks, there is actually a feeling of something good in the air in the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphians are supposed to be known for brotherly love and cheesesteaks, but Philadelphia itself is also known for being the place where America officially became the United States of America and as such is filled with many famous landmarks. At Christmas time some of these landmarks are transformed into a bit of a winter wonderland and the already steady stream of tourists to these locations gets a little extra treat.

The world famous LOVE Park located in downtown Philadelphia is one of those famous landmarks where tourists from around the world come to see the park containing the famous LOVE sculpture. In addition to this sculpture, for some odd reason on the surrounding blocks there are giant sculptures of clothes pins, dominoes, and even a giant iron. No one really knows why, but the tourists do enjoy the obligatory poses of pretending to hold up the giant dominoes or being steamed by the giant iron.

Also in this area is the historic City Hall building with William Penn on top of the tower; this is still used today as City Hall and is generally where most of the city tours branch out from. At Christmas time this area of Philadelphia is decorated and lit up for the holidays.

Now City Hall and Love Park are already dramatically lit up at night and if one stands in Love Park in the evening facing the sculpture, a stunning view of lights down JFK Blvd.... leads to the massive and impressive building that houses the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This in itself is quite a sight to behold but during the holidays this amazing sight is amplified.
