Can Forensics on Tv Programs Make Better Criminals?

Before I start I just want to state I don't know everything about crime and the forensics involved, this is just merely my own opinion.

For so many years now crime shows on television are always a hit. From shows back in the 80's like CHIPs, Starsky and Hutch, to the newer shows on today like all the CSI shows, Forensic factors, FBI files, Cold Case, 48 Hours and the list goes on. Now a days the crime shows are so real and informative that it's really got me thinking is this a good idea to be showing how the "Good Guys" catch the bad? I know it makes for good TV and ratings when the show being watched is as real as possible but I think television producers might be going a little to far in some shows.

I know myself that when I was 12 I didn't know anything about DNA, finger prints, semen stains and all that, but today my son who is only 12 knows more about the forensics then I do and I'm only 29. If a 12 year old is picking up everything off a show like that then who says some lunatic isn't watching the same thing and learning to be a better criminal? I know the shows don't show all the secrets the authorities use to capture criminals but if you watch enough of these crime shows then I figure you can learn enough to at least not get caught or lead the authorities in circles.

Its wild if you get thinking about it because I know myself IF I ever did commit some brutal crime such as murder then I'm sure I know enough I have learned off those shows to either pin it on someone else or make sure the body disappeared.

Again, don't get me wrong I love these shows personally but when you factor in all the murders and serial killers out there in the world, do we really need to be helping these people out by providing so much information on television shows? I don't think so myself. Some things should be just kept quite as far as I'm concerned because crime shows that are on today are way too realistic and informative for the wrong people watching them.

It might not be a problem now but it will be eventually and then what? It will be the fault of the television producers that we will have all these somewhat "Educated Serial Killers and Murders" running around with little to no way of catching them.
