Brownies are a delicious chocolate dessert for children and adults alike. Whether served with ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream or all alone, brownies are an easy to prepare treat that never fails to satisfy a sweet tooth. I had seen the boxes of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Syrup Brownies at my local grocery store as well as in the food sections of discount department stores. With a price tag of almost four dollars, I chose to purchase the less expensive, but reliable brands of brownie mix. When I found Ghirardelli Chocolate Syrup Brownies on sale for $1.79, I knew it was time to try this brownie mix.Ghirardelli Chocolate Syrup Brownies are a cinch to prepare. After mixing up one fourth of a cup of water, one third of a cup of Vegetable Oil and one egg in a bowl, I then added the brownie mix and chocolate syrup to the bowl. The chocolate syrup comes in a separate pouch from the brownie mix. The syrup is quite thick and took several passes with my hand down the plastic pouch to extract all the syrup. It took about thirty strokes to thoroughly moisten the brownie mix. I was immediately impressed with the thickness of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Syrup Brownie mix.
I then proceeded to pour the brownie mix into an eleven by nine glass pan. The brownie mix only covered about an inch of the bottom of the pan and looked rather skimpy. I was unsure whether the Ghirardelli Chocolate Syrup Brownies would rise enough to produce a thick enough brownie to please the family. Thankfully, this concern was unnecessary. After placing in a preheated three hundred and twenty five oven, I set the timer for forty minutes as directed on the box. Thankfully, I checked the brownies after thirty minutes, because a knife inserted in the center came out clean. I was pleased to see that the brownies had risen beautifully and the dessert looked fantastic.
