How to Make a Jesus Plastic Canvas Magnet
What a better time of the year to make a plastic canvas Jesus magnet then at Christmas. This can also be used as a window decoration too. The great thing about plastic canvas is they make great gifts and are quick, cheap and easy to make. There are several ways you can go about making
this pattern. You can do 2 colors of yarn or you can use a colored sheet of plastic canvas and use the other color of yarn. I like to use 2 different colors of yarn. But for this pattern I will be using a clear sheet of plastic canvas and 2 different colors of yarn.
Items you will need:
2 different noticeable colors of yarn
1 sheet of 7 mesh clear plastic canvas
1 yarn needle
1 pair of scissors
2 small pieces of paper
2 small magnets
1 bottle of glue
It's also a good idea to have a Darice Hole Scaler the plastic canvas hole/rib counter. It makes counting the squares a thing of the past.
Cut a piece of plastic canvas 59 square holes by 20.
Thread your needle with your main yarn color you wish to use in my pictured I used the dark blue. You will be using a stitch that looks like this "/" In from the back through to the front and down to the left one square over and pulled through to the back again. Work from the outside toward the in, all the way around create 3 rows of this type of stitch. If you have to add more yarn, be sure to tuck the yarn back securely with your stitches placed over top. But always make sure that there is a front side and a back side of your plastic canvas. Be careful to not mix up your sides of plastic canvas. Always tuck or tie off your yarn in the back of the plastic canvas, never in the front of your plastic canvas.
After you have made your 3 rows of your main yarn color we now move on to the word "JESUS" on your plastic canvas.
