The Bowl Championship schedule has been announced and the #2 LSU Tigers will be facing #1 Ohio State. The game will be in the restored New Orleans Superdome January 7, 2008. Two losses in triple overtime took LSU from #1 to #7 last week which made a National Championship seem unlikely. The events of last weekend that included LSU winning the SEC Championship changed everything. The losses by #1 Missouri and #2 West Virginia changed the BCS landscape considerably. Ohio State and LSU were the beneficiaries of the upsets and enter the bowl season fighting for it all.
With the big game in New Orleans I believe LSU has the advantage as they will have the whole state of Louisiana behind them. Playing for the National Championship at what could be considered a home game will bring out a fired up LSU. As an adopted resident of the last few years, I hope LSU pulls it together and gives the state something to celebrate.
