Robot developments in Japan are happening on a daily basis. There seems to be a new robot convention being held somewhere in the country every single month. The latest convention was held in Yasukawa at the 2007 International Robot Exhibition. Companies from around the world attend this convention to see what other companies have recently come up with. The unveiling of thousands of different robot creations tends to emit awes of shock and joy amongst the attendees. However, there was one robot receiving a lot of attention. Introducing to the United States the SmartPal V.

The Yasukawa Electric Corporation is responsible for the creation of the SmartPal V. What we have here looks like a pretty complex robot and it really is a complex one indeed. The 1.3-meter tall robot is loaded with a ton of technology that should scare us all. Robot development is certainly becoming more advanced and bring us closer to potential robotic workers. The SmartPal V is the latest adaptation to the SmartPal robotic design. Yasukawa Electric Corporation believes that this is the best version created yet.

It was during the International Robot Exhibition that you were able to learn a bit more about the SmartPal V. The robot comes equipped with all of the proximity, speech recognition, and object-detecting sensors that have been popping up in new robots left and right. Most of the new robot designs incorporated one of these features, while the SmartPal V incorporates all of the features. Also, the current model excited the crowd by unveiling something pretty darn impressive. The SmartPal V comes with an all new improved dexterity. This dexterity is delivered through the creation of additional joints and lumbar units that did not come equipped with the previous models of the robot.
