I love homemade fresh popcorn tossed with my favorite flavors rather than the ones that come in packets. I have tried a lot of pop corn making machine including the movie type kettle poppers but for some reason or the other they don't give satisfactory results. My boyfriend gifted me the West Bend Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper and I expected this machine to pop like a crazy apparatus. But sadly even this is not a perfect popper. I just wonder why is that not even a single popcorn popper comes with perfect features when there are more people out there to buy this. I guess this is one of the machines that are not seriously designed.

I was so excited to receive it as a surprise gift and couldn't contain my happiness. I just hoped that at least this works fine and does not burn the corns like my previous popper. Voila! I could not believe my eyes. They have popped out perfectly with uniform color and not even a single corn had turned brown. The 6 quart is the right size for a family and this will be fine for sharing among friends. It comes at $42 and I am not sure whether this is worth the money spent. By far this is the reasonably good popper that I have come across and to be frank there is nothing great about it. When compared to other poppers it is functionally superior and does the job in a better way, if not the best.

This comes with a non stick coated surface and hence it requires very little or no oil. I use spray minimally and this pops out incredibly well. It looks as if it is totally oil free and does not stain the bowl. This has an absolute non oily texture and at the same time it is not dry. The West Bend Stir Crazy makes very light fluffy popcorns that crisp and crunchy. The best part is that when compared to other brands, this popper requires less corn for the same amount of popcorn. That is it gives 25% more amount of popcorns than the counterparts though the same amount of raw material is used. Hence it is economical when you go for expensive Gourmet corns.
