ll face Georgia, a team that could be in the national championship game next year. And Oklahoma looks to avenge last year's stunning upset to Boise State in the same place, the Fiesta Bowl. In the feel-good matchup of the week you'll see Virginia Tech face Kansas while the party will end when Ohio State faces LSU for the national championship.

Rose Bowl - Pasadena, Calif.

#7 USC (10-2) vs. #13 Illinois (9-3)

Summary: The "Run for the Roses" features arguably one of the hottest teams coming into the bowl season, USC, fresh off a blowout win vs. rival UCLA, against formerly embattled Florida coach Ron Zook now working his magic with the Fighting Illini. From the looks of the game it seems to be a foregone conclusion that USC will put up some points. Illinois' secondary can be suspect at times. The Trojan defense is No. 2 in the country behind only Ohio State, but ask the Buckeyes if the Illini know how to play defense (the answer is yes, since Illinois gave Ohio State its only loss). Juice Williams, Illinois' quarterback will need a great day against the vaunted USC D in order for the Illini to have any chance.

Breakdown: John David Booty continues the long line of USC quarterbacks headed for the NFL. In critics' eyes it has been a disappointing season for the much-ballyhooed signal caller. Booty has battled injuries and was even replaced for a few games, but now he's back and after a 44-6 pasting of rival UCLA, all things are go in La La Land. Booty has the usual USC trio of receivers to throw to and the young stable of running backs are starting to come into their own as well. Illinois also has a young team and it just seems likely that their youth, combined with a rabid USC fan base that doesn't have to travel far, will propel the Trojans to a victory, though Illinois' big-game experience will make this interesting.

Prediction: USC 31, Illinois 20

Sugar Bowl - New Orleans

#10 Hawaii (12-0) vs. #5 Georgia (10-2)

Things to look at: Ohio State lost to Illinois which finished at the #13 spot. Arkansas that beat LSU? Where is Arkansas' rank? Exactly, they didn't and for that matter don't have one. USC, WOW, I would rather lose to a school atleast known for being good at any sports, as opposed to Stanford (4-8) that once in a while just descently has a prescence in basketball. Who would you rather lose to, Illinois or Stanford? I'd go with Illinois. even at that USC barely even won their conference, let alone being thought of as national champions. Sharing the same record as Arizona State, another school NOT in the rankings. And before any of you morons reply, please think and don't just reply because you're on the LSU or USC bandwagon.

I agree, anyone that watched college football this year should know SC will destroy any team out of the BIG 10. As far as Ohio state, are you kidding me, you play teams like Akron and you lost to an Illinois team that lost to Iowa. Really Iowa. Don't think cause you played and blew out and all mighty 3-9 Kent state, that you're worthy of a BCS game. Ohio state had the ultimate cake walk schedule. Teams like SC, LSU, Oregon had the hard schedules. Another thing is, had Dixon not been injured, Oregon would the one about to demolish Ohio St. worse than Illinois did. Its just to bad they don't have a decent backup, because we all know they should be there right now after beating Michigan at home, USC and an undefeated Arizona St. Personally I am not a fan of any of these teams but I watch college football almost every day. I am just sick of this Ohio St. hype. They were sick last year with Ginn and Smith but they still lost to Florida. They have NO CHANCE this year against a red hot USC.

I agree my friend. USC is going to demolish Illinois by at least 3 TD's. No team is playing better than the Trojans and their is no way a bunch of Midwestern rejects from a basketball school which lost 10 games last year is going to come to L.A. and beat us. It's not happening!!

SC is going to annihilate Illinois and prove what a fluke the Small 10 really is.

...of one little aspect. You might as well be from Michigan and make the outrageous claim that the Wolverines only went 8-4, simply because they lost to App. State. You can't blame everything on a fraction. Case and Point, you can't seriously sit there and say "if only this would have happened", not when there have been so many mishaps this season. Every team had a point where if only this would have happened. If boston college would have scored a touchdown somewhere in the middle of the game, you wouldn't have an argument, nor would you even be on here. You can't base a National Championship on Ifs, Coulds,Woulds, And Shoulds.

first off, a prediction is opinionative. Im a buckeye, and i am entitled to a screw you, but i wont. Ill leave him to be with brent musberger, who jumped on the LSU bandwagon so many times this season. And of course, just as soon as they lost (both times), he ditched, dissowned, and denied them. If you dont think the buckeyes will win thats fine. Like I said opinionative. Next, Creed, are you honestly going to sit there and talk about how if only VT didn't lose to Boston College in the final second of the game, they would be #1, as if VT is theonly team to go through a loss of that nature? It's so easy to sit and say oh well my team got screwed because of this little tid bit of a game. You can't sit there and act as if that didn't happen to everybody this year. Because it did. -If only Kentucky, wouldnt have beaten LSU in overtime. -If only West Virginia could have just scored one more TD. And even then, you can drag everything around it and say oh well VT's season was screwed becau

76 VV, Ohio State isn't that good; it's probably just that you're from there, so shut up and watch the Tigers destroy your team on national TV. Enjoy. By the way, it's you're, not your. Go back to school.

He isn't an idiot!!! He has the right to pick who he thinks like anyone else. I do think he might be off a bit on some of his predictions though.
