To Make a Papyrus Headboard You Will Need:
Sheets of papyrus
Canvas stretchers
Staple gun
Scissors
Flat L brackets
Screws
You can buy canvas wood stretchers are art supply stores. They are basically four pieces of wood that fit together in a square or rectangle shape. The four corners slide together and can be glued or nailed together.
Each slat of wood will cost anywhere form 50 cents to $1.50.
So, go ahead and measure how wide your bed it. You want to divide this number by 5.
Now, this is how long your wood slats need to be. Buy four for each square. Your papyrus headboard will be five squares wide, and as many squares tall as you want.
Go ahead and assemble all of your squares. Glue or nail the corners together as you work.
Now, once all the squares are assembled you need to start cutting out your papyrus. Cut each sheet out so that they are three inches longer and taller than the wood frames.
Lay one sheet of papyrus for the headboard out on a flat surface. Place on wood stretcher in the middle.
Now, fold the sides of the paper up and around the frame and use he staple gun to nail them in place on the back of the frame. Basically, like wrapping a present.
Repeat this process on each stretcher for the headboard until all are covered in papyrus.
Now, place all of the papyrus headboard squares face down on a clean flat work surface. Build yoru grid out of them. Sides should be butted up next to each other.
Place a flat L brick on each frame so that us touches the frame next to it. Mark where the holes are. Pre drill each hole.
Now, screw the headboard frames together using small screws.
