So maybe you're not one to spend a whole lot of time looking for deals and shopping online (see my other article titled: "Surviving the Holidays With A Little Left Over). Not everyone has time to spend looking for good buys and cheap (but nice) gifts for the holidays. Here are 8 gifts you can buy in the store that won't kill your pocket!1.) Blockbuster Gift Cards: A $5 gift card to Blockbuster covers a movie rental and popcorn. Essentially, you'd be spending $5 and giving someone a movie night - a night to relax, put your feet up, eat some popcorn and watch a movie.
.) Wawa Gift Cards: Wawa is a convenience store in the Philadelphia area so if you don't live in that area, you'd obviously have to substitute Wawa for what ever convenience store chain you have. A $5 gift card would be a free lunch or even a business week (5 days) of small coffees on the way into work.
.) Candles: Candles are a great, inexpensive gift. All you have to do is tie a bow around it and you've got a nice gift that didn't cost you much time or money
.) Popcorn Tins: I've seen a lot of different varieties of these tins and some can be a little pricey. However, I've seen some at Kmart for about $6. The great thing about popcorn tins is it's really two gifts - the popcorn and the tin it came in. I still have two that are a few years old that I use to store other things
.) Lotion: Not everyone uses it, but if you have friend or co-workers that do this is very inexpensive but a very thoughtful gift that will last longer than one day.
.) Bath Kits: Go to any Wal-Mart, any Kmart, etc. and I promise you that you will find little bath kits that come with a small container of bubble bath, bath beads or things along those lines. They may even have mini kits for as little as $3.99. These are small gifts, but thoughtful. Who doesn't enjoy just taking a long hot bath with soothing smells every once in a while?
.) Hat/Glove Sets: They're useful this time of year, inexpensive and can last for years to come! Many department stores have matching sets with adorable holiday designs.
