The 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit has not significantly changed from the 2007 year model, which I review previously. What has changed is a 20 horsepower increase, a 500 rpm increase in the red-line for the Rabbit that follows the horsepower increase, and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is now standard on all trims. The horsepower improvement was not noticeable when I test drove the 2008 Rabbit. The twenty horsepower increase is not a change in the engine, but a change in the computer programming (enthusiasts call it 'tuning'). You might also notice that the highway miles per gallon has dropped by one due to new government fuel rating standards that begin for all 2008 model cars.

These new features come at a modest price increase of $500 as compared to the 2007 model year. To get a feel for the 2008 Rabbit, read the 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit Review.
