I am starting over and it is something I never anticipated doing at the tender age of 53.

When you have devoted the last 19 some odd years to your "significant other" and finally realize the all mighty significant one is not all he is cracked up to be it sort of hits you like a hand slapping your forehead to tell you "you could have had a V-8!" Love those commercials!

Actually after the smoke cleared and the raindrops that were really tears dried up I found me to be sort of numb. It's like you wake up one morning look in the mirror and there is a stranger there. Older, chunkier (in my case), still not too wise and not a clue at who or what is looking back at me!

But I am determined.

Somewhere down deep I will find the tenacity to dig up my old dependable weedy roots, re-soil, nourish and pamper them. I am positive that a lovely, unique looking ivy will somehow blossom. And I can't wait to see it.

This ivy won't just be any old ivy. This ivy will be special. It will live in a small, neat but classically elegant space. It will wander where and when and for however long it wants to. It will bask in the sunshine and breathe deeply the free air. It will rejoice in silence and seek clamor only when it is moved to do so. It will wrap itself with a sweet southern softness and will only peak when it has become the richest velvety green ivy that will be the envy of all that are so-so and mundane.

This is my quest. Come with me. Share my voyage.

Home not so sweet home.

At this time I live in an albatross home. You know - one of those "handyman" specials. My "other" and I bought it because, well because he wanted it. This was only 4 years ago so I was no spry chicken and since the "other" was 14 years older......

Well you get the gist...the handyman special turned into my personal albatross!
