Sony Reveals Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition for Playstation 2
Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition is the first game developed by David Jaffe's Eat Sleep Play. After the release of Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition for the Playstation 2, Eat Sleep Play plans on developing three more games exclusively for Sony and the Playstation brand.
David Jaffe used to be the creative director and designer of Sony Computer Entertainment America Santa Monica Studios. The outspokenness of David Jaffe makes him one of the most recognizable faces in videogames.
Before leaving Sony to form his own videogame development company, David Jaffe was responsible for the God of War and Twisted Metal series. His last game at Sony was Calling All Cars, a downloadable game only availble on the Playstation 3 via the Playstation Network.
So far, Twisted Metal series composes of seven main games: Twisted Metal 1-4 (all released on the original Playstation), Twisted Metal: Small Brawl (also for the original Playstation), Twisted Metal: Black (for the Playstation 2) and Twisted Metal: Head-On (for the Sony PSP). Twisted Metal: Black is generally considered the best game in the series and one of the best games on the Playstation 2.
With the exception to Twisted Metal 3 and 4, the series was mainly developed the same people, including David Jaffe. Twisted Metal 1 and 2 was developed by SingleTrac. Twisted Metal: Small Brawl, Twisted Metal: Black and Twisted Metal: Head-On was developed by Incognito, a development team which was formed by ex-members of SingleTrac.
Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition is a Playstation 2 port of the PSP game. Twisted Metal: Head-On. The PSP game got solid reviews from critics with an average ratio of 79.9% at gamerankings.com and a metascore of 79 at metacritic.com.
